I use an organic method of working, allowing the work to change and evolve constantly. My work hints at and resembles a mixture of natural and sometimes industrial forms, looking at systems and their structure and function in the body and also the natural world, including veins, roots and containers.
I enjoy the ambiguity of this, using the versatility of metal to change components as the work grows and progresses, using a process of discovery in my construction with each piece informing the next. My work ranges from large metal sculptures to smaller works including bronze and lead casts, informed by drawings and photographs.
Starting with a single join-weld I add to the work allowing patterns and shapes to emerge. These patterns can repeat and change throughout the rest of the piece - as if growing naturally.
